On Friday 13 February 2015, the QUALICHeCK-dedicated workshop “Quality assurance of energy performance certificates: from calculated energy efficiency to real energy efficiency of buildings”, was organised as part of the BauZ! Vienna Congress on Sustainable Building. The Congress took place from 12 to 14 February 2015 within the framework of the Vienna Bauen & Energie trade fair.
The workshop was the first in a series of three national workshops in Austria to be held in the period 2015-2017, in the context of relevant Austrian conferences. Best practice examples from other European countries are presented to showcase how the quality of the energy performance certificates and the actual building quality related with energy efficiency can be improved.
In this workshop, first results of an Austrian study on the quality of energy performance certificates in the province of Salzburg were presented. QUALICHECK presented suggestions for improvements and discussed them with the workshop participants. The focus was on how to achieve substantial improvements in quality at the lowest possible cost.
